A social initiative to make deep-tech investments more accessible for Venture Capitalists

Space2Invest

The Problem

  • About 97% of Deep-tech ventures contribute to at least one of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal. They have the potential to fundamentally impact and improve the world we live in. These ventures build disruptive technologies with a potential to generate alpha returns for VC and PEs.

  • Yet, deep tech investments are concentrated in a handful of countries and done by specialized VCs

The question we are asking is how to make deep tech investments more routine and widespread?

What we have found till now?

  • Investors often lack scientific/engineering expertise to assess deep tech potential

  • Successful deep tech investments are a result of VC's conviction built through talking to experts in the industry and academia

  • If more VCs can have access to experts to evaluate a deep tech opportunity, more deep tech investments will follow.
